As a platform for discussion, dialogue, and theoretical argumentation with the aim of relocating language contact within the wider framework of research on language change JLC provides two series: - The first volume entitled ‘THEMA’ publishes issues focusing on a chosen topic. Each volume is edited by an Issue Editor, who determines, in agreement with the Editors of JLC, the content and the envisaged participants. - The second volume titled ‘VARIA’ is open to all kinds of contributions which are concerned with the outlined objectives of the journal and do not fall under a common theme of a THEMA issue. VARIA is edited by the Managing Editor in cooperation with the Editors. Papers may be submitted in French or English. In each instance, an issue editor defines the content and selects possible contributors in cooperation with the Editors; s/he will then announce a call for papers. Non-thematic issues may also be published regularly. The Editorial Board is consulted with regard to all editorial activities: scientific and editorial policy and content of issues. Any member may be an issue editor. Drafts sent by contributors are accepted after anonymous review by two referees chosen by the Editors and the Issue Editor. VARIA issues appear once a year and THEMA issues are published upon completion.
